Firstly, they're not engaged right now, and in the teaser it said that Alice gets engaged (not married)... of course, that could mean that she gets married sometime this year anyway, but I think she would have to be engaged for a while for it to count as being engaged. OMFG Do you know what I realised today? Three of my favourite fanfictions have been updated over the past few weeks and I didn't even realise! ReplyDeleteUm... I'm not being funny, but in no way was I being anything but 'chill'. I merely asked when we could expect an update. And of the 60-odd comments, few have been regarding an update. They have mostly been about My Immortal, the floods in Australia, or theories on who will be getting married in the next chapter. You telling 'us guys' to chill is completely ridiculous when we aren't being pushy at all. I genuinely don't see what's wrong with asking when we may expect an update.
I really don't think you have any right to tell us to 'just chill'. This blog is for talking about LaT, including asking about updates. And Jules has often said that reviews and comments here encourage her to update. I'm not going to stop posting here just because you are asking me to 'just chill', especially considering I wasn't pressuring her at all, or expecting her to do anything BUT finish in her own time.

Bree: There have been two comments in this thread (out of 67) which may be considered to be a bit pushy. The rest, I think have been rather polite. Including mine. If half of the comments were along the lines of 'UPDATE! UPDATE RIGHT NOW!' then I might agree with 3.23, but that totally isn't the case. I only asked if there would be an update before I go to visit my parents on Friday. I resent being told to 'just chill' just becaue I asked that simple question.

A wedding does seem odd, but it's a happy event, because Marlene is smiling. Were it not for the flowers, it could be an extension of the protest or some sort of award ceremony. But Lily's holding a bouquet, which is just strange. I think it would be wayy spontaneous for Alice and Frank to be getting married, even if Alice is supposed to do something impossible...I don't know. That would take a lot of work to pull off. It's not Sam's surely, since he's rather flamboyant. And there would be no reason for Lily to be in it. We know that she goes to James' house in this chapter...so maybe something there? I don't know.

It's hard to say how I picture James. I can only picture him when I'm reading, and if I try and imagine him, I can't! But I think I imagine him with darker, messier hair and sharper features.

My dad does wear his shoes inside sometimes but only because he's too lazy to take off his boots after he's been outside. I don't know if this is a cultural thing or not (my mom is puerto rican) but my mom insists on wearing chanklas which are basically house only sandals and she hates the fact that I go barefoot.
@chubbypotato: I like Karen Gillan. She's not perfect but she's the closest I've come.

ReplyDeleteAbout the wedding debate... i'm pretty sure its gonna be a wedding that Lilys preparing for bc she is def supposed go to two this summer and this next is the last of the summer chapters.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why it seems out of place to be Frank and Alice's...right now she is on the hunt to find him, maybe when she does they come to some realization about how precious time is during war or something of equally corny value.
Plus, whoever stated "who else would put on a wedding that Lily would be in/actively involved with?" first had my ear. Bc i'm also sure that Lily is a bridesmaid or something (and someone earlier suggested she might not be), bc James says something along the lines of "I don't have a job to do" implying that Lily does.

@chubbypotato thank you! Haha, I know he is too French-model-ish to actually be James but just the structure of his face and body is perfect to me. He's the closest IRL person to the James I picture when I read.

In my defense... I was eight when I first read the Harry Potter books. And Snape has a hooked nose, a silky voice, a name that sounds like 'snake', and I think I thought 'sallow' meant greenish... or something. So, yeah, my childhood imaginary version of Snape never went away...
