New Topic



 What does Canadian recording artist Drake Jimmy from "Degrassi" (forever!) have to do with Chapter 29? Not much, but there's something in there that keeps reminding me of him, and nothing makes me giggle more then a Degrassi cast member becoming "hard core." Those of us who know better remember that he can't walk.

Probably the last spoilers I'm going to give before the update are going to be some random excerpts. Super random sentences taken from the chapter =). Enjoy:

Nearly a minute of snogging commenced, before James cleared his throat loudly.

“Why do you have a sofa in here?”

One day, in the not too distant future, Sirius Black would serve as the best man in his best mate’s wedding.

“Let’s go see about a necktie, shall we?”

“That’s not earrings, is it?”

“Husband and wife,” said the little wizard...


“I’m seeing Carlotta,” he told her suddenly.

    DEGRASSI! Love love love. Also, love the best man line. And the one about Carlotta. And the very first one...for some reason.

    And now we know for a fact that the event Lily is attending is a wedding. Basically. I would assume.

    On an unrelated note, I just saw Narnia, and every time Aslan came on, all I could think of was RUMBLEROAR!!

    I am such a spaz, I swear, just ignore my last comment really. Kelsey was right. I was referring to the Carlotta thing. I kept saying how he would tell Lily about Headboy thing over Carlotta because it would be easier to get out and if she found out about the Headboy thing on the train she has a real right to be pissed.

    I can't wait for this update. I'm having a crap-tastic week thanks to my crap-tastic boyfriend, plus I start classes again tomorrow :(
    This post made me go watch the episode of Degrassi where Emma has STDs ahahahahahaha. Canadian television is wonderful:)

    I feel very sure that James is talking to Alice when he says, “I’m seeing Carlotta,”. Alice has all that history with her from last school year- maybe Alice is like a stepping stone for getting it out to eventually tells lily. Also- if he does tell alice, it seems likely that alice would tell lily.

    To be honest, I think James tells Lily about the Carlotta thing first.

    Because she'd be more pissed about the head boy thing, after all, until just recently they became friends. And she hasn't realized she's like madly in love with him... (yet.) And being head girl is a big thing to her. I'm just rambaling, but these were my thoughts.

    Lauren.... wait what? she'd be more pissed about the head boy thing so James tells her about carlotta?

    I think that she can legitimately be mad at him for not telling her about becoming head boy. She on the other hand cannot be mad at him for dating someone else (well she could but not to his face without him knowing she likes him too)

    And now that I think about it that proably is James telling either Alice or another non-Lily character because Jules would not just put that up as a spoiler (as Jules laughs at Lindsay because she is totally wrong)

    @Lindsay: I just saw that on tumblr and was like "OMG it's Lily!!!!"

    As for the excerpts, I really really want to believe James is talking to lily when he says he's seeing carlotta, even though the rational part of my mind is telling me he isn't.

    80 pages? That is amazing! I'm seriously so excited for this chapter. The only thing is tomorrow I leave for Thailand to do some traveling with a few friends before I go back to uni. I'm gone for a month as well so the update will probably come when I am over there.
    So Jules I am going to find an internet cafe and hide away and read TLAT somewhere in Thailand, most likely in Bangkok. That's right TLAT will be a crucial factor on my holiday :).

    @Lindsay--er, that IS the girl they're having play young Lily....Ellie Darcey-Alden. If you google image her, you'll find that exact picture! (minus the background, of course)

    8:03: I know your plight. This weekend I leave for Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro :) And while I'm super super excited/nervous etc., I'm also a little scared that LaT won't be updated until then... and I most definitey won't have time to read it while I'm there. I can't really imagine there being internet cafes halfway up Mount Kili...

    Jules, do you think it's possible to update before this weekend? I would love you forever if you can!

    oops... Well I'm happy with their pick then I just saw it on tumblr. I usually don't go actively looking for movie spoilers..not that it spoils much, I just like to go into the movie with with expectations (like how snape's worst memory was like 2 seconds tops... I am still mad about that so I just don't like to think of the movies and the books as the same thing... that sounds weird.

    But like Dan Radcliffe doesn't look like the Harry Potter in my head from the book. Same with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. So the fact that they got a Little Lily that fits my mental image is astounding.

    @Elle G: Canadian TV is wonderful? PSH, our tv sucks :-PP We have like, 3 decent shows and one is Kids in the Hall and the others have Micheal Seater in them! :-DD *M.S is the cutest thing since baby penguins*

    Do you all believe that I've never seen Degrassi? I refuse to watch it :-))

    @Charlieschulz- touche! BUT, Degrassi is everything a TV show needs (the older episodes with Emma, Manny, J.T., and everyone else.) They leave nothing out. I love it! I can't believe you refuse to watch it... I'm only slighty shunning you for this.

    @Jules- 80 pages! Holy crap I can't wait for this. You've just made my week so much better. I, like Kelsey, bow down to your stamina. I can't wait to see what happens. I love reading everyone's thoughts about who is doing what. It just fuels my excitement!
    Plus, my first day back at university was a snow-day. I reread TLAT, just to prepare myself for the next chapter. Does that make me slightly obsessed?

    I have also never seen Degrassi, but maybe I'll just have to give it a shot. After all, you all got me hooked on Dr. Who, which was a positive life choice ;)

    @Sara: The Remus Lupins are the best. I live for I Was A Teenage Werewolf. Then The Ministry of Magic, they're pretty cool, eh? And then.. well Draco&themalfoys has a pretty good sound, and Harry&thepotters is always good for a laugh..

    OMG! Do Lily and James Snog?!?!? Oh wait, someone else is snogging and James interrupts them. I try not to read the spoilers to much because I want to read it in the chapter, but from the amount of spoilers you have posted, this must be one heck of a long chapter! I can't wait!! :) Since people were making their requests earlier, I would love to read your story after next Wednesday after I have two midterms that day... but the earlier the better, I won't complain lol.
