Question

Okay, I have a question for you all. Gideon and Fabian? Twins or not?

HP-Lexicon is utterly useless. I kind of like them as twins, because twins run in a family and I love them as the precursors to Fred and George. So I might just go ahead with that, unless anyone can recall any canon fact that says differently...?

  1. I always thought they were. F/G twins I thought that was Molly's tribute to her twin brothers.

I think that it was never actually addressed though.

  2. http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Fabian_Prewett

That has a picture and they are *dressed* like twins... Also, at the bottom it says they were portrayed by Oliver and James Phelps (Fred and George) who are obviously twins... So far this site has been pretty reliable...

I say if you like them as twins, go for it. I don't think anyone will call you out on it if they're not.

  4. I'm currently writing them as twins, though instead of being like Fred and George and being very similar, they are vastly different in the way they go about things. Like, Fabian is more Fred&George, while Gideon is more like Molly--very responsible and whatnot. I think of them as being different in personally, but their hearts and their deepest natures are the same, you know? Of course, you can obviously write it however you want, but just a thought. (:

  6. I've always considered them twins. After all, they're Molly's brothers and the disposition to give birth to twins is genetic (not making this up), so I imagine that the Prewetts had a few generations of twins to their name.

  11. Not. Nothing in canon indicates that they are (although nor is there anything that states they aren't either); it's featured occasionallyin fanfiction because people like the idea of more Weasley-ish twins (and who could blame them, really?).

But why are you asking? Having recently re-read LaT, I seem to remember it being mentioned that both were in the same year... in which case you were already going for the twin thing?

  12. Did I mention them in the same year? The only time that I mentioned them that immediately springs to mind is in Chapter 8, when Frank mentions Gideon being a year older than him. I'll have to check, though.

  13. Hm... well I may be mixing it up with another fanfiction... but LaT is the only one I've read recently. I may just be confused ;)
