Friday, April 22, 2011

Cheerful enough, Donna walked along the second floor corridor in the direction of the Charms department. The hallways were always the best kind of empty at hours like this—mealtimes—and Donna could stroll without fear of bumping into anyone, her mind occupied by pleasant things like Ancient Runes translations and the biography of Cornelius Agrippa that Lily had lent to her. 
 She was just debating which—the translations or the biography—she would pursue first after supper, when the unfortunate witch rounded a corner. 
 What she saw, about twenty feet away, made Donna think she might lose her lunch.

    Aww.. poor Donna. She must have hurriedly finished off her meal only to find out that it had been for nothing... How annoying. =[

    It would be amusing if it were James and Carlotta... I would love Donna even more for her reaction. But... could it possibly be just another pair (like maybe Shelley and someone or a pair of Slytherins)? I just don't really think James and Carlotta would be doing such things in an open corridor near the Charms department...

    Or maybe Lathe has made a sudden reappearance and her stomach is knots =O.. Or not.

    It could possibly be someone being tortured (other than Donna with her stomach)... Or could it?
    It sounds more like just something Donna wishes she could 'unsee'. Unless it is serious..

    I'm really curious as to what Donna will see! I would love it if it were James and Carlotta (or maybe not, because more puppies will be killed)! But... it could also be a sign saying: "Ancient Runes will be cancelled for the rest of the week."

    Hm, so I'm thinking it's either going to be something along comical lines, e.g. just a happy couple being all loved up (though if it IS James and Carlotta there is obviously nothing funny about that) Or, something more serious - I'm with those wondering if it's Charlie talking to her sister. Then again, after what she said to Charlie would he really have the guts to talk to her sister?

    Donna was happy about her love letter from Lathe, just to turn the corner and see Charlie Plex still existed

    I agree with 1047, I bet it's Plex and Clancy (or Plex trying to make a move on Clancy. Marlene's comments on the train make me think he's been rather unsuccessful in his pursuits with her)

    before I get corrected, I know he's dating Clancy, Marlene's comments make Clancy seem more Mary than Madonna (and her comments to Remus about snogging places all being rumors)

    I love Dr. Who! Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to watch any of the new season because I don't have a tv (and even if I did, I wouldn't have BBC America). *Sigh* But they're supposed to be available on Netflix soon. Yeah!

    Is the new Dr. any good? I loved Tennant, he really was one of the better ones. So sorry to see him go.

    Oh it's fine, long homework due friday, little siblings screaming around the house (they're at the post childhood phase, the worst),the friends are great and my cat is the cutest thing on earth. Drama always cool down after a while Jules, hate/jealousy/screaming/vendetta takes too much energy to last long.

    I hated that that they looked older too :( I always thought it was because when Harry first gets the photo album in the first film they look older to maybe make it immediately obvious to people who weren't that family with the books that they were his parents? Or make them look more typical parents instead of people not that much older than himself? Idk...

    At first, I agreed with what Tasha said. But in the books, it says that wizards mature faster than muggles. Also, they were all part of a stressful war, which probably aged them somewhat (at least physically). So...that might be an explanation for why the actors were cast as older than what you would expect for 21.

    I haven't read the books in a while, but I didn't think we knew in the first book just how young Lily and James were when they died. I figured the movie producers assumed typical adult, mid thirties...which would go with Alan Rickman playing a mid-forties Snape...still makes me mad they didn't include Lily in SWM (especially since him calling her that is the reason its his worst memory)

    And yea, I'm pretty sure they age slower, with Dumbledore being like 150 years old and all

    Well sort of. I guess the aging process changes later in life, but I didn't think that it was terribly effected for the young folk.
    Harry, Ron, and Hermione, for example, I imagined were normal 17/18 year olds in DH.

    As far as I know, wizards have a longer life span on average, but they don't age at a faster or slower rate. They just live longer and healthier. I'm fairly sure of that. Good to be sure of something now that I've been knocked on my ass and all comprehension has been stolen. Damn you, Moffat. *slinks back into Who-induced numbness*

    Well, I do remember that Dumbledore said that they reach maturity sooner (he said it to the Dursleys). And, yes, I also know that they live longer. Oh, well. Doesn't really matter anyway, since it's Hollywood (or whatever), and they always change things.

    OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. (*spoilers*) When Amy was like "no, this can't wait, it's super important!" I was all like, "THEY'RE GONNA SOLVE THE MYSTERY! THEY'RE GONNA STOP THE BAD GUYS!" then suddenly she was pregnant!

    Does that mean River's pregnant, too? Both Amy and River felt sick after they met the silence, so... confusion.

    Erin - I think what you're remembering as the maturity comment is when Dumbledore is telling the Dursleys that Harry is of age at 17, not 18 like in the muggle world. But yeah, that always bothered me about Lily and James being so old in the movies.

    Does anyone know if they've released the names of the actors cast for young Lily and James yet?
