4/14

This post requires more music.
I'm thinking back to the times when I posted on blogspot every day (there was maybe one month where this happened) and feeling like I should be like that more often.
SO...
Here's another excerpt, because I'm too lazy to say anything brilliant.

Donna.” Marlene poked her shoulder, and Donna started.
“What?” she asked loudly. “What? What do you want?”
“Is there a particular reason why you’re staring at Shelley Mumps like that?” asked Marlene, amused. Mary raised her eyebrows.
“Are you trying to make her explode with wandless magic?” she asked brightly. “Because I would fully support that decision.”

Love,
Jules

  1. January it was a glorious month! So now Donna is pissed at Shelley? What is she doing to her sister?

  4. Love the excerpt, (:
It is almost one in the morning, I hate doing last minute english essays. Procrastination always gets to me. Like now.
Jules, your excerpt cheered me up a bit. (:

  8. just wanted to say that you are my favorite person ever right now because my week has been miserable but it has been slightly less miserable because you gave us /two/whole/ excerpts.
This makes me want to hug you.
But I won't cause you'll get my germs.
And cause you're not within hugging distance.

    (also, Fringeception tomorrow!)

  9. Fringeception tomorrow and Doctor Who on Saturday. It is going to be a glorious weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I love that excerpt. Wonder what Shelley did this time.

    What is Fringeception?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Fringeception is what's going to be happening tomorrow night at nine o'clock on fox. and it's going to be epic.

  12. (sorry for double posting, I lost my train of thought)
Oh my god, Jenn. I've been so hooked on Fringe I almost forgot! The Doctor's coming back! Wheee!!!

  14. Oh! I loved that song! And I loved the excerpt even more! I'm curious as to why Donna is glaring at Shelley and I could speculate... but I would probably get it wrong! :D
Anyway, you made my day (it's Friday morning over here already)!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Shelley probably had to say something bad about Ancient Runes for Donna to care enough to glare at her

  16. What didn't suck this (my) week:

    1. Jules' excerpt.

    2. Jules' excerpt.

    3. Jules' playlist.

Seriously - thank you very much, Jules. I had terrible week and now, as it ends, I can cheer for you've updated twice aaand Fringeception and Doctor Who are returning. Yay!

And Donna! She's one of my favourites OCs! Donna is always the answer ;)

  17. You have been excellent as of late Jules with the answering of all the questions in character and the excerpts and the music and I want you to want me, what a song, sad that it is after this time frame. It fits quite nicely. Perhaps I am pushing it right about now but do you have a time frame for le update? Something to write on my calendar?
I just love this story :)

  18. I love Donna - shes says all the things I'd never have the courage to say.

  19. love the excerpt. keep 'em coming!!

DOCTOR WHO ON SATURDAY. SO EXCITED.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I thought the doctor wasn't back until the 23rd?

    ReplyDelete
  21. That song is so wonderful! I'm obsessing over Greg Laswell now.

I feel sad. I could have been listening to this a long time ago had I not been boycotting Grey's Anatomy. The "Off I Go" song is pretty amazing as well.

    New obsessions... YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ugh. 9:05. You're right. I keep getting my weeks all messed up. Sorry for making everyone excited :'(

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha, Jenn got herself excited for no reason. Fear not, Jenn. If I might suggest... two shows this weekend.

Tonight "Sanctuary" comes back on the SyFy channel for a new round of awesomeness - I recommend it to anyone who likes Victorian mythology (re: Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes, Nikola Tesla, Invisible Man, etc.) and Doctor Who-esque monsters and creatures. First two seasons streaming on Netflix. It's seriously one of my favorite things of all time, Canadian, 90% shot on green screen. Amanda Tapping kicks ass and Chris Heyerdahl is the Ultimate BAMF. There is no competition. Even Neville Longbottom can't compete with his wonderous bad-assery.

Also, this Sunday HBO premieres "A Game of Thrones" which looks to be all sorts of good swords-and-magic fantasy, though I don't know the books on which the show is based. However, the author is a producer so it should be faithful and interesting. Plus, Sean Bean with hair just like Boromir in LOTR. Boromir lives, my friends. If you have HBO then definitely check it out to see what's what.

It'll tide you over until next weekend, at least. Then I've got something lined up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for me to geek out over.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Fuck yes, can't wait for Game of Thrones!! Am rereading in preparation for this weekend!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. So I'm browsing through fanfiction for a good LJ story and none of them compare to TLAT... :[ not even the mindless smut that I used to love. Perhaps this is the universe's way of telling me to do my homework.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @321 I've never read the books - must confess to be more of a Terry Goodkind type of girl and totally loved the LOTS show. How would you rank George R.R. Martin? Would I like his work?

    ReplyDelete
  27. TODD I LOVE YOU!

I completely forgot that Game of Thrones starts on Sunday. And Fringe and Camelot tonight!

    Who needs a social life?!

    Not me :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. So you've decided to stop throwing baby grands at my head, then, have you? And... tell me more about this Camelot.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well I'm about to go read, so I'll get back to you about the baby grands.

I like Camelot. Well mainly LOVE who's playing in it. It's got Joseph Fiennes as Merlin, Eva Green is Morgan Le Fey and Jamie Campbell Bower is Arthur. First three episodes are out and the fourth was on tonight on Starz.

Here's a trailer to give you a feel for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb3_AyOplQw

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also I just read that you loved LOTS.

Can we just get married now?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can i be on the map? :) i live in a super small town called Ravanna Nebraska.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You watched LOTS? I refused to watch TV for three months after that ended. Need moar Cara!

Camelot looks interesting, and it definitely looks more faithful to the legend (if that's even possible, considering how many things have been added since the original story) than Merlin. However, my heart sort of belongs to Colin Morgan because he's one of three actors in the world that can bring tears to my eyes. I'll have to check it out. Thanks, doll. Now you're obligated to watch Sanctuary.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Todd: I had to buy season 1 and 2 of LOTS from Amazon.com because I couldn't get them ANYWHERE in Canada. Cara was amazing, and Kahlan when she got that black outfit. Holy Mary Mother of God.

@Riley: I'll add you right now!

  34. Isn't it funny how stagnant this blog has become? Everyone must be doing mid-terms and vacations right now... there's no way we're going to beat the comment record at this rate ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Todd: Hehe maybe everyone is watching Deathly Hallows Part 1 on DVD, too. ;) Re: your comment at 213: Is Amanda Tapping equally (or more) kick ass in Sanctuary than she is in Stargate?

    ReplyDelete
  36. MAYBE THEY'RE FUCKING DYING BECAUSE OF FRINGE BECAUSE THATS ME I CANT EVEN NOT TYPE IN CAPS

    ReplyDelete
  37. Awh Jules. Deep breaths. And then watch the episode again :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, I've watched it twice.
I still can't even handle it.

    Peter/Oliva/Toast/Ray-bans. OTP forever.

    ReplyDelete
  39. That jacket and those glasses killed me. And don't forget the gloves.

    Yumm....

    ReplyDelete
  40. Peacoat plus ray bans.
    Yesss pleaaaz...

  41. I am in fact one of those guilty of watching DH pt.1.... (also I was drawing)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I actually haven't bought my copy yet...

    ReplyDelete
  43. My excuses is that I had a final today... but really even that's not good enough.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nope, not good enough at all....but it's okay, you're still awesome ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Marie I think she's more kick-ass in Sanctuary, but it might just be the British accent + gun + black leather that's clouding my judgment. Maybe if she wore more black leather as Sam I might think differently.

I'm actually holding out buying DH pt1, since I'm hoping they'll eventually release the two parts together as a sort of package deal. So... that's me.

    I love you guys. Srsly.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Woah, look at the self-control on Todd.

Waiting until Part 1 and 2 come out together.

    Show off.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Always making us look bad, aren't you Todd?

    ReplyDelete
  48. *flutters eyelashes* Who, me?

Psh. I don't have money to buy some spankin new HP movie right now. Waiting is my only option. So I figure, if I'm going to wait why not wait for something better?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Like Lily waiting for James....er, no, that doesn't really work as an analogy. Shut up, my brain is tired.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Everything relates back to Lily and James (and LAT) in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ahhh, the meaning of the universe explained at last....

    ReplyDelete
  52. Definitely not finals or vacation for me. My excuse is that it's the weekend and alcohol is good...

Also, I don't watch those shows (dr who, fringe, lots, the canadian one) so I don't have much to add

    ReplyDelete
  53. You add alcohol. This is always a plus (unless you're under twenty one in the States because that's illegal so don't get caught).

    ReplyDelete
  54. Don't mean to sound stupid, but what is LOTS?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Legend of the Seeker (I didn't know either, so I googled it....google always knows)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Legend of the Seeker is (was, wah!) a syndicated drama created by the same people who produced The Legendary Journeys of Hercules and its more famous spin-off Xena: Warrior Princess. LOTS is based on Terry Goodkind's best-selling novel series The Sword of Truth. And it kicks ass.

    ReplyDelete
  57. It was amazing. Hot guys. Hot girls. Magic. Swords. And lots of kicking ass. However, it was cancelled last year after only having 2 seasons. It was a horrible decision.

Also, to all my american friends, I'm so sorry about your stupid drinking age. I've been drinking legally for the past 2 years since it's 18 in Quebec. Plus I never knew (until I met a bunch of Americans at school) how much worse their punishment is than over here. Stay strong kiddies. And like Todd said, don't get caught :)
