4/13

My current jam... although it's inspiring my original material muse more than my Chapter 32 muse. 
Still. Relevant. Ingrid Michaelson is both my Clancy Goshawk and Marlene Price muse. 

Aaaand a tiny excerpt:

James shrugged. “I guess.” He didn’t think he conveyed nonchalance very convincingly; Lily didn’t seem to buy it, at any rate. “I just... he shouldn’t have done it. It should have been Remus.”
“It couldn’t be Remus, James. You know that.”
He did. It was bloody unfair, but it couldn’t have been Remus. 
P.S. Random update: BOTH songs I want to use for the song title are too late. "I Want You To Want Me" is from 1977 and "Is She Really Going Out With Him" is from '78.
SIGH.

    Whoa... So confusing. Is it because Remus is a werewolf? Its sweet to see James being mad\disappointed on Remus' behalf - he cares about his friends so much.

    And thanks for the welcomes. The funny thing is, I was recommended to this story many times in the past and just never got into it. I'm so used to shitty L/J fic, I have a tendency to skip to later chapters in a story to see if it's any good, and I did that several times with LAT and never got into it -- I think because I somehow always ended up reading Luke/Lily scenes, plus I usually hate OCs. Then one fateful day, I decided to start from the beginning... and it all clicked. And I love the OCs now. In my head, they are canon. (Is that sad?)

    Anyway. Overshare much? :)

    ehh, I don't think it is about head boy. HE shouldn't have done it. I guess that could mean Dumbledore shouldn't have made that decision, but I think it's referring to someone and therefore something else.

    Just refer to previous comments sections if you are worried about over sharing...

    I think it's about Head Boy....Lily was probably telling James some of the reasons she thought Dumbledore took the chance to make him head boy (1. how he handled the snape/sirius situation, 2. he commands authority - people do what he says, 3. he's smart and gets good grades 4. he's still on 74 after an entire year) and James says Dumbledore shouldn't have done that....

    Dumbledore didn't give harry prefect because he thought he already had enough responsibilities...I can see him using the same logic with Remus and head boy

    @Jenn, very true...shipping Ron and Hermione, and clearly Lily and James (bc as Shay says, LAT is clearly canon)

    I mean, he pretty much shipped Tonks/Remus even after death...(though a slightly liberal interpretation of words)

    I know for a fact teachers in my school shipped different high school couples, so the idea that Dumbledore ships students seems totally legit. He had a lot of reasons to put James in the position, but I think that since Lily was head girl Dumbledore thought he would play a little matchmaker.

    Oh, rubbish, Jules. No one's going to call you out over using a song from a year or two after this story is set. No one will mind.

    (And btw, literally just realised that you use songs from/before the time period... I mean obviously I noticed you using the Beatles, Stones, Supremes, Bob Dylan etc. which are quite old but it never clicked that you only actually have used songs that are from the time. I'm feeling rather stupid right now.)

    And, y'know what, if anyone does say 'Biatch, this song wasn't released until 2 years later, wtf is wrong with you?', just reply with 'Well, in the Jules-verse, Cheap Trick and Joe Jackson were actually wizards and released their songs in the wizarding world a few years earlier. Duh.'
