You are a ninja of reading. Okay, I can accept that you might polish off one of the 8800 word chapters, type up a review, and submit it in a mere 6 minutes, but the fact that you did this with Chapter 2, which is nearly 11,000 words astonishes me. And yet your reviews are detailed enough to show that you are, in fact, reading the chapters, which leads me to the conclusion that you are a ninja. Or that ff.net is sending me the review alerts at 5-8 minute intervals, but more likely that you are a ninja. A ninja of reading.
But seriously, thank you to everyone who has been reviewing lately--I know several people are re-reading and leaving comments on every chapter, some are reading for the first time but being wonderful with the reviews, Kayla's doing her fantasmal five-word summaries on tumblr... and I don't think I have properly expressed my gratitude to you all recently. So, to everyone who reviews, or comments here with their support, or leaves lovely messages in my ask box on tumblr, thank you ever, ever so much. You are all extremely gracious, and I have no words to adequately express my appreciation and love for all of you.
Also, I will TRY to get to answering review questions this week.
With regard to the update, the theoretical time frame is still by the end of the month.

So, I've been going back and re-reading some of my favorite L/J stories ever (because procrastinating is much more fun that actually doing my final paper!). Crossroads (by Emmyjean) has such a wonderful James; so amazingly sweet to Lily and very realistic. Anyways, anyone who is waiting for more of the awesome sauce that is TLAT James, should read this in the interim. P.s. It is most def AU, so if that's not your thing...still, it's good stuff.

ReplyDelete^^ I would just like to point out that 'Crossroads' WAS canon when it was written, so even if you dislike AU you may still like this story. And even though it was written pre-DH, it still doesn't actually contradict DH canon, not really. But yeah, I agree with Erin, it's a great read and I highly recommend it as well. Crossroad James is very drool-worthy.

I've seen it used a lot, and from the context I can safely guess what it means, but I'm just curious what the letters actually stand for? I googled and couldn't find the answer, and I thought the people on Jules' blog use a lot of internet-speak, so someone here might know....
@Anon 8:08, the only definition I could find for UNF was "universal noise for f***ing". I think it means that you see or hear or read something that literally makes you imagine sex and you go "unnnnnfffff". But I'm not positive about this. Anyone else?

The ninja reader has inspired me to re-read and review (I've never reviewed anything of ff.net before), but it will have to wait until June bc my contract runs until end of May and I won't have time to re-read the enormity of TLAT

ReplyDelete@Sarah, PBD is Adam's first legit girlfriend, yeah. Although he had the occasional date (i.e. Kathy Pritchard in "Dates with Ravenclaws") and probably an incredibly meaningless third or fourth year relationship.
@Frenchie, there will be some more Shelley destroying Carlotta. Of course, she really has done the meat of her damage--telling her secrets, and the rest is up to everyone else to just make stuff up about Carlotta, so Shelley can largely just sit back and watch those bridges burn.
BUT there's a pretty epic scene between Carlotta and Shelley coming up (idk if it will end up making the final cut of Chapter 32--it might get delayed till Chapter 34) and Chapter 34 IS called "Meloni v. Mumps," so the war/attempted destruction isn't over at all.
