2/17

“Are you trying to get a shoe launched at your head, Meloni?”
<>
“Well,” said Marlene, “I am quite brilliant.”
<>
“As the only here who has tried to off herself,” said Carlotta, “I think it might be a good idea.”
<>
“Well, we’ll have to catch up soon,” said Sabrina lightly. “So much to tell! Oh, did you hear?” She leaned confidentially forward. “Carlotta Meloni and James Potter.”

I am trying very hard not to just fall asleep, because I really want to finish Part II tonight. Part I and Part V are done. Part IV has maybe two scenes left.

  1. Staaaay Stay stay awake

I'm trying to do the same too at the moment. I need to edit my Corporate Profile paper for my intro to business tomorrow. GETTING NO WHERE. I mean, what the hell is a value line report?? I didn't ask for this.

    I just drank a doubleshot coffee...thing. Helped a little.

  2. Ugh caffeine would help so much right now. But my room is really cold, and I already had to go outside and fix the circuit thingy because we blew a fuse, and now I don't want to leave my wonderful bed.

    ReplyDelete
  3. You know how to fix a circuit? Awesome writer AND capable of home maintenance? Jules..you are too talented for your own good.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Lolz not really. The most difficult part is propping open the cover and holding a flashlight at the same time. Then I flip two switches and its fine.

  5. Weeeeell, to me that's like a super hero ability. I'm still at a loss on how to cook rice (i put the rice in the water BEFORE i boil it..the concept just doesn't stick)

    ReplyDelete
  6. can you make noodles? or macaroni and cheese from a box? That's a similar concept...

    ReplyDelete
  7. Nope.

Mainly I just don't ever...cook. Rice was an experiment. And I failed. Lesson learned I guess.

Except EGGS! I can fix eggs. I make a mad egg, toast and orange juice breakfast.

    ReplyDelete
  8. And breakfast is a meal you can have at any time of day. It's not like lunch. You couldn't have lunch at breakfast. That would be gross.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Unless it's pizza. Many people proclaim a love for pizza breakfast (except me. that shits gross).

    ReplyDelete
  10. cold pizza at 11 am is acceptable.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ugh. When I stayed in Germany for a couple weeks with a family, they gave me a pretzel, white sausage and mustard at 8 am. blleeeghghgghg.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm a big fan of the turkey in an english muffin. Best of both meals, right?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Cold pizza is my favorite meal ever!

    ReplyDelete
  14. who is sabrina talking to??????

post part I & V today??? part II III IV can come later.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love pizza. Every time it is mentioned, I am literally like, OMG I WANT PIZZA RIGHT NOW!!! It was in two TV show episodes I watched yesterday AND is brought up again now...I think it's a sign ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. @7:43-lol I couldn't do that. It would ruin part V, and it wouldn't make much sense.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh god... why do I get the feeling Sabrina's talking to Lily...? :S

    ReplyDelete
  18. "James's tie collection had been embarrassingly broad"
    LOL

a weekend update would be fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Because Sabrina probably is talking to Lily. I really can't see James or Carlotta breaking that news to her. And the Marauders won't. Alice won't, which leaves random person aka Sabrina

    ReplyDelete
  20. cold pizza is gross. I totally heart eggs at 11:00 pm. especially with cheese.

I'm loving Marlene more and more.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Cold pizza with cheese is gross (I mean, ew, melted cheese that's congealed? Really?). Thin crust marinara with a little bit of basil and chicken, though, is breakfast's best friend.

And I've often believed that yes, Carlotta is trying to get a shoe launched at her head.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't know if this Sabrina is talking to Lily, but my first impression was that this is how Lily finds out about J/C, either directly or by overhearing the conversation....though I've been wrong before. Like, always ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe she's talking to Shelly?? I can't necessarily see Carlotta telling her...

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it is probably Lily, but a little part of my brain thinks it's Mary. She does seem like the type of girl who would be exchanging dishy gossip on the first day of school, wouldn't she?

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is not how Lily finds out, no.

    ReplyDelete
  26. FYI...kiss and tell just updated! 2 great fics updating in one weekend, Score! Well... hopefully 2 fics, right Jules;) :D

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thank goodness for that! Knew you wouldn't do that to us Jules...

And yes Kelsey, wrong again for me too. Jules, you're just too good. But we love you for it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. this is so insignificant and probably really stupid but i was wondering how your pronounce carlotta?

is it phonetic or is it like car-loh-ta?

    ReplyDelete
  29. OR it's like Carl-otta. Haahaa, I'm finding some enjoyment in butchering her name to sound like a mans.

    ReplyDelete
  30. car. lot. uh.
thats how it's supposed to be, right?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think you're all off, because it's a combination of it all.

    Sarl-ohta

    Lovely Sarl-ohta Meal-on-I

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is sounding more and more like a Star Wars alien.

    Car. Lot. Uh. Mel-OH-ni.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Obviously, it's Car-LOT-ah, not Car-lot-AH. (that awkward moment when no one gets your vague HP reference....)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Stop it. You're going to put out someone's eye.

    ReplyDelete
  35. you're a nightmare, honestly. no wonder you haven't got any friends.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why don't you say it then, if you're so clever?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lol @potato.
Ron: "She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends."

Hermione: "Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon, Ron, doesn't mean everyone has."

    Shippers: AWWWWWWWWWWW

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love them!! (Ron & Hermione) They're so cute together, even in the first couple of books when they got on each other's nerves.

    ReplyDelete
  39. awwww. but i was a late shipper...wanted harry/hermione until hbp came out :S

@kelsey that WONDERFUL moment when you realise everyone here is just as potter-obsessed :D

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Chubby--yes indeed, sorry I ever doubted all of you

    ReplyDelete
  41. Alright, no relevance to the previous statements but very much looking forward to the supposedly soon update, will spruce up my sunday...perhaps late saturday/very very early sunday for you.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Gotta dash, 'cos I'm going to the snow with my family, because my brother is getting deployed next month and we're like bonding or something.
    Update probably tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  45. soo anyone out there have any recommendations on good Lily/James Fics while I wait on an update? I'm super boredd..

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well there's Commentarius, Scribblings of a Red Head and a Quidditch Captain, Crossroads. Those are the nly ones I can think of off the top of my head...

I used to be quite good friends with the author, but she was always terribly busy. As far as I remember, there was only a chapter or so left, but I suppose she never got around to finishing.

    ReplyDelete
  51. thanks. wow rosier tried to rape lily? this really is angst/suger/angst.

    aaaaaaah update tomorrow.

things i look forward to most:
    jily angst.
    jarlotta banter.
    madam angst.

    ReplyDelete
  52. lol jily. I am laughing way too hard. I think it's time I went to bed... nah.
    -Sara

    ReplyDelete
  53. it's either jily or lames... i pick jily.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jarlotta.... What a name.
    Carmes...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Lol I thought James/Carlotta were just "Puppy Killers."

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes, just Puppy Killers.

    That's all.

    Back to HW.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Suckers. I'm off school tomorrow :P

    ReplyDelete
  58. Has anyone heard the song Carlotta Valdez by Harvey Danger? It's sort of appropriate (pretending Carlotta's last name is Valdez)..

"Carlotta Valdez, i will make you her
what a thing to be the center of attention all the time
he isn't really falling for this, is he?
    he's getting dizzy
    and so am I"

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yes, that song is about Hitchcock's "Vertigo," which is what inspired the name for Carlotta... although not for any plot-related reasons, for those of you hoping that, in keeping with the movie, Carlotta would be deserted by her wealthy husband, die, and possibly possess her suicidal great-great granddaughter.

Actually I just picked it because I thought it was a great Femme Fatale name.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think that sounds like a good direction for the story to head personally.

The name does terribly suit her. Carlotta..you just know you're going to hate her the second you hear the name.

    ReplyDelete
  61. o yeah, forgot the term "puppy killers".

so i was browsing through baby names today, and carlotta came up as meaning "free man".
    ...weird.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Shoot, Potato! You've guessed the twist! Carlotta is really a man!

    ReplyDelete
  63. yay me for catching the twist!
must say that this pushes tlat from A to A+.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi Jules! I'm Laura and I'm a brazilian fan of yours! I'd just like to congratulate you for your great story. Hope you'll be updating it soon!
    - Laura
P.S.: Sorry if there's anything wrong with my English!

    ReplyDelete
  65. So, what time will we be expecting an update? I super excited!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh God. I tried to reread chapter 27- had to stop at the James comparing Lily and Carlotta scene. Puppies are dying, Jules.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Lol, you might just want to skip Part I of Chapter 30, then...

No, I'm kidding. You have to read that part; but there are probably two points that will necessitate my entrance into witness protection.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The only consolation is that we all know, deep down, that James is still in love with Lily, and Carlotta just isn't good enough to change that. But that is, seriously, the ONLY consolation.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Just keep in mind that James/Lily is endgame. =)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Do you have a target update time, Jules? I'm super excited too! :D

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi jules! :) do you think you're going to update today? for you see, I'm from sweden and its past midnight here. if you are going to update, im going to stay awake, but if you aren't, well, I'm going to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'd go to bed. It'll be several hours still. Sweet dreams!!! (And sorry!)

    ReplyDelete
