3/30

This moment calls for an excerpt.

“What a bitch!” exclaimed Ravenclaw Valerie Turpin, handing Shelley Mumps a handkerchief, but not really looking at the blonde, whose hands concealed most of her face. This changed when Shelley took the handkerchief and used it instead to conceal her flushed cheeks.
They stood in the girls’ lavatory off the fourth floor, and Valerie had been touching up her lipstick when an ostensibly distraught Shelley entered, five minutes earlier. Now that the Gryffindor’s story was told, Valerie picked up her forgotten make up and turned towards the glass over the tap again.
“You can’t just let Carlotta get away with this!” Valerie ranted on, delicately applying the creamy pink wax over her lips. “Girls do not steal their friends’ crushes!”
Shelley finished wiping her (dry) eyes and set down the handkerchief on the side of the sink. Valerie was now smacking her lips together, vision fixed upon her reflection, and she did not notice her companion’s face at all.
“But what could I possibly do?” Shelley asked carefully. “I mean—she’s Carlotta Meloni. She gets away with everything..."

  1. You're not a cock block, Jules. You're a cock tease or fiction tease? Something like that.

  2. Oh universe! Why must I share the name "Valerie" with a creation from Jules' brilliant imagination. I'm sure I'm going to hate that I was given such a name by the time she's developing this character.

    Can't wait for chapter 31!!!

  3. Wowww, I see more conniving coming from Shelley!

  4. AWWW, I'm sorry, Girl Also Named Valerie! If it's any consolation, I only choose names that I like, because I hate typing names I despise over and over again. =P

  5. "But are you going to kill her off?"
"It's not your decision. I love the character, she stays."
"Yeah, well the only thing love's done is put you in this position; I say kill her off!"
"Yeah, but you say a lot of things... and how does that work? You're a bicycle"
^^^^ Coheed & Cambria's Ten Speed (of God's Blood & Burial) is relevant.

  6. You know, I'm supposed to be writing several essays at the moment and all I really want to concentrate on is James, Lily, and even a little Carlotta. Consider yourself hated by my professors (but loved by me!).

Also, it's my birthday. For reals. So you should post the next chapter? Yes.

  7. I hope Carlotta find out what a big bitch karma is once Shelley gets her revenge. So Jules can we expect an update by tomorrow?

  8. Hey, remember the beginning of sixth year, when Jules brought us three attempted suicides and it was AWESOME? Who knew that silly teenage drama could be even better than that?

P.S.- Shelley Mumps is so full of win here, in the worst way possible. I love it.

    P.P.S.- Bring back Lathe.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Agreed. Bring back Lathe. I always pictured him in my head to be very sexy. And what Harry Potter fanfic isn't filled with a number of unrealistically sexy people?

  10. Ooo Shelley getting Valerie to do her dirty work (in my mind, thats the outcome of this interaction), how very slytherin....also, isn't Valerie the one Sabrina said would be jealous of Carlotta/James? I'm too lazy go check right now

I think I'm going to like this side of Shelley

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Kat, yes, still the plan, but I don't always follow my plans well.

    @1001, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

@KK, Lathe's coming back. Not right away, but he'll be back. I'm super excited for that.

@1027, yes, she's the one. She was also the girl who was bitchy to Marlene in Prudence Daly's compartment.

What's the next chapter called? You may have already revealed it but I don't remember... It's not 'Carlotta Must Be Destroyed' is it? Cos I swear that was a while away.

  21. @Sophie, yes, I'm from the UK too and Friday was in everybody's head last week. Even my brother who works in South Africa has heard it :/ Sad times.

  22. @ 326, Yeah I've heard about it everywhere, but actually discussing the "phenomenon" in class.. kind of freaked me out =D It was a class about social media at least...

  23. Well it seems exciting !!! I like this bitchy Shelley :)
However, I kinda feel bad for Carlotta (can't beleive I said that) because really who would (could ?) resist James ? Not a girl following Jules' story I think ^^

    ReplyDelete
  24. That little schemer! Oh, I can't wait to see what Shelley pulls. And it's kind of funny because she learned all her plays from Carlotta who's probabl wishing she never gossiped to her ex-best friend, right?

Speaking of the sixth year suicides (that feels like it should be capitalized), is there going to be some sort of seventh year mystery thing? Like, say, more Luke? *puppy dog eyes*

  27. LOL. I kind of feel that Jules is our own Dumbledore. I mean, think about it: She knows everything about what's going to happen, and with the excerpts she wants us to try to figure it by ourselves.. Do you have a thing for sweets as well Jules? Something... lemony? (wink wink)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm getting scared for Carlotta.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My boyfriend has left me alone tonight so he can go party which means I have unlimited time to read chapter 31 tonight. Pretty please finish today?

Now that I'm done begging, this excerpt makes me think you might turn me from a Carlotta-hater into an almost-sympathize-with-Carlotta-but-she-got-what-was-coming-to-her-er. I'm not sure if that last "er" should have been on there or not.

    ReplyDelete
  30. love the excerpt! and i really can't help myself because i love spoilers soooo...jules, how many people will know about lily's feelings before james does? that's not TOO spoilery right? just a number :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think I kinda like sneaky, manipulative Shelley.

Speaking of Valerie, I'm rereading TLAT (le duh) and I just finished Chap 18- "March" and she is part of the group of gossiping girls that were bothering Alice in the library isn't she? Oh, AND I totally forgot that PBD was in that scene and now I definitely think that PBD is not all sunshines and rainbows. I'm calling bs on that and I think she's taking more of a "keep your enemies closer" approach with Marlene.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @324, No, Chapter 31 is "Carlotta Delenda Est." Although, it's easy to get mixed up with another title I spoiled, which comes later on ("Meloni v. Mumps.")

@1045, this number may change, but approximately 4.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Justine, PBD was in the library, but she was the one defending everybody lol. To me, PBD's problem is that everything IS sunshine and rainbows to her, and when things aren't, she might not... cope very well

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmmph, well there goes that theory ;P

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lol, well, we've already got Shelley going all conniving and Carlotta being Carlotta... ALL of the "other women" can't be despicable. =P

    ReplyDelete
  36. You said Adam was probably going to have the hardest year.So if he's got no rainbows and sunshine going on and PBD doesn't cope well without them then.... hmm. Marlene I see you chance coming up :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I was rereading chapter 2, and had a huuuge question. I feel like it is aswered on later chapeters.. but I just needed to ask.
When Lily greets Luke on the platform and he sais that he loves her, she thinks that she likes him, but she loves someone else. Aaaand later, she compares Luke and Snape when taking about holding a grudge.
Was she talking about Snape when she thinks about loving someone else? And by love, does she mean as in friendship!love, or significantother!love?

    ReplyDelete
  38. *chapters

I feel like a three-year-old writing *rolls eyes*

    ReplyDelete
  39. She means.... friendship!love. Mostly. She wasn't *in love* with him, and I don't think she even thought she was *in love* with him. She just thought he had a kind of claim on her that made it impossible to properly love Luke.

    ReplyDelete
  40. adam and carlotta are my fav oc's. i hope the next few months won't be bad for them.

    ReplyDelete
  41. btw. WHY does donna get so much love and carlotta so little?? just cuz donna is sassier?
donna deliberately and unfeelingly cheated with charlie and hurt cassidy. even her apology was half-assed.

    ReplyDelete
  42. lol, 'cos donna's not going after James.

No, there's def something of a double standard, but that's just the way it goes. Donna's more upfront about being an unfeeling bitch, whereas Carlotta fancies herself in the moral right.

If it's any comfort, Carlotta MIGHT get more sympathy over the next few chapters... I try not to attempt to force people to be sympathetic to anyone, because I hate when creative forces do that (fucking Glee), but that's just my prediction.

Anyway, I like Carlotta, but I like everyone I write =P.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ^^ Really, that's funny because Adam is the only OC I don't like. Not that there's anything to dislike, but to me he's just kinda meh.

^ Donna regretted it. That's why. And at least she never did it to her friend. AND she knew it was the wrong thing to do, whereas Carlotta can't even see that. And with Donna, there is so much more to her. With Carlotta, 'slut' is the first thing that comes to mind.

Not that I'm defending Donna's actions or anything. But that's why people don't hate Donna quite so much.

Jules, this may sound really really thick, but what exactly began with a kiss? I'm also rereading from the beginning in anticipation for the next chapter, and in chapter one there is this:

"It began—she would later speculate as she stood by the threshold of a room wondering if this could ever work—with a kiss: the simple movement of standing on her toes and embracing Luke Harper on the train station platform at Hogsmeade village."

Don't want to sound stupid, but what is 'it'? Or are we yet to find out the significance of that? I mean, maybe that kiss lead Luke to saying 'I love you', and obviously she didn't say it back, and maybe when Luke makes his return, that will have more significance?

Or have I majorly missed something in which 'it' has already been revealed?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Because Donna isn't dating James preventing Lily from dating James... the puppy killer is. And we saw the whole Alice/Frank/Carlotta story line and that Carlotta was the antagonist in that situation. The only time you saw cassidy was when she hexed Donna. (meaning Donna was the one whose eyes you saw it through = the sympathetic character)

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's to do with Luke's return. Defo, cos James' is
It began—he would later speculate as he stared down the end of a wand that could very easily kill him—with a punch.

So if James is talking about it at Luke's return, Lily probs is too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @chubby I think more people cut Donna slack than Carlotta because Lily likes Donna, and we seem to like was Lily likes. There was one point where I did not like Donna at all but now that she's grown up a bit I'm all about her. Oh no, I've turned into one of those people who wishes Jules' characters were real.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Donna learnt her lesson and I'd like to think she wouldn't do it again. Carlotta didn't; after Frank she carried on sleeping around and seeing guys who had girlfriends. She completely screwed over her best friend. All after Frank.

And it's kind of in girls' nature to hate the sluttiest person. Even though what Donna did was wrong, the word 'slut' doesn't really suit her, whereas it practically defines Carlotta.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ahhh, that awkward moment when you find an excerpt of new chapter after being locked up in the room without internet to finish up gigantic essay...

Best thing ever! Can I say how much I love this Shelley bitchiness (is that even a word?)?
I'm not Carlotta hater or anything, but I have been once in Shelley's shoes, so I'm not going to feel sympathy to Car about this. She consciously brought this on herself.

Anyway, I really enjoyed manipulative!Shelley. Girl' got potential!

    Hope you'll update soon-ish :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. And Donna did it cos she was going through a phase. Not an excuse, I know, but she was going through a rough time and made a mistake with Plex. With Carlotta, she has done it repeatedly for years.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1146 - I think it refers to, well, James and Lily. I mean, it refers to them as a couple. Because really, Harry Potter started with James and Lily, and their sacrifice.
Though, it is kind of confusing to me as well. I can see why (for Lily) it started by kissing Luke, because from them on she started to get to know the real James (idiot or not). But, I don't get it why it starts with a punch for James. He has liked Lily since 4th year..
Or maybe I'm incorrect, and "it" doesn't mean the both of them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. @1214, that's the closest thing to it. "It" refers to the whole love story. Why it begins there is kind of an unfolding thing to be touched on later.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Although, literally, it begins in those two places for each of them respectively, because that's where each is introduced.

    ReplyDelete
  53. stealing your best-friend's crush = belittling the death of your best-friend's parent, imo. and donna thought she had screwed miles and tried to hide it from marlene. just sayin'.

    anyway.
    @11:46
ADAM IS AWESOME. he's the only character is in the story, other than lily, who is completely secure in his principles and without baggage.
imagine rooming with the marauders without developing an inferiority complex or giving a shit about being excluded. also, he had the balls to confess his love to his best-friend, without becoming a whiny mess or manwhore when she shot him down.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Unbelievably excited. Will you be updating anytime soon? Today, perhaps? I was reading through a previous thread and you said possibly Thursday and that would be bloody amazing cause I'm going out of town for the whole weekend (friday included) with no internet access and it would be awesome to not have to be super anxious over whether you've updated LaT in my absence or not.
Not that I'm trying to be selfish or anything...but it would be super awesome if you could update. SUPER.
Also, I'm a little scared about who's going to find out about Lily's little crush. Makes me nervous. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's definitely a double standard on the whole Carlotta/Donna thing, because it should be the same. You could say that Donna did it with a character that the audience had no allegiance to unlike Carlotta who did it with Frank and is now messing around with James (which will obviously make everyone hate her), but I think that's all kind of a grey area, no matter what, cheating is all bad. I'm sure that the cheating with Alice's bf vs. cheating with Cassidy's bf thing played it's role, but from the very beginning I always liked Donna more than Carlotta.
Even from the first chapter or so when we knew very little about Carlotta's escapades I think I personally always empathized with Donna more (not sure what that says about me but whatever) and Carlotta was at first this kind of random hippie girl.
Then as the story progressed I still liked Donna better because she seemed more contemplative of her actions at least while Carlotta just went for what she wanted without thinking of how it affected anyone else.
So in general, for Carlotta it's always all about her, but with Donna I actually see some completely selfless aspects of her personality. This made me like Donna more from the start, making me more understanding of her cheating with Charlie Plex, even though morally that was just as bad as Carlotta's cheating was.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Adam may not be the deepest, most interesting character (at least not at this point, but I'm kind of interested to see what happens this year that makes it so rough for him) but he's so sweet and cute I just have to love him :)

I guess it's random. But everyone seems to keep talking about her.

    ReplyDelete
  58. @chubby: "he's the only character is in the story, other than lily, who is completely secure in his principles and without baggage"--Lol that's why he's boring!

Lol jks. Um... Idk what it is. I don't dislike him or anything. I just like the others more. Him, and Marlene actually, are the least exuberant characters, so really, for me, the least interesting. But Marlene's cool because she's a total bitch to Carlotta which is instant awesome in my books. And lately I've been growing a really soft spot for Marlene, especially that last chapter. Again, I like Adam well enough, but not above any of the other characters. Compared to how much I like reading about him and how much I like reading about any of the other OCs (Carlotta, Donna, Shelley, even PBD at the mo; and Mary and Reg sort of count as OCs as well), there's a massive difference.

@ Jules 1216/1217 - Ok still kinda confused. James already liked Lily for ages, though didn't he? But I assumed the punch was really what lead to them finally getting to know one another. Like events unfolding from there, as you put it.
But if that's the case, then I still don't get what significance that kiss with Luke has. It wasn't the first time she kissed him, nor the last, so... what?. I'm assuming when you say "to be touched on later", you mean we will definitively see the significance of the kiss?

(By the way, I totally noticed you not saying yay or nay to my guess about Luke returning :P)

    ReplyDelete
  59. My issue with Adam and Marlene, what my issue with Shelley used to be, is that they're passive people. They don't take initiative in their lives, they just sort of witness. So I'll probably have more interest in them when they get more kick ass. Jules knows this already, but I thought I'd articulate it here because I think there's a difference between a boring character and a passive character.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah, the significance is something that's going to play out later.

Luke's not done with yet. We'll see him again =P

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ 12:47

Lily admits after that kiss that she doesn't love Luke. She likes him, but doesn't love him. So, "It began with a kiss," began her realization that Luke wasn't the one for her.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Todd, was it you that was the Prez of Luke's fan club??

    ReplyDelete
  63. Donna, for all her bitchiness, never actually meant to hurt anyone.Carlotta on the other hand, has never cared about who she does or doesn't hurt. She has never cared about anyone beyond herself.

Donna at least cares about other people - her family and Lily. She has never pretended to be close, or even loyal to Marlene or Mary or anyone else; and yet Donna didn't sleep with Miles (even though she was drunk) through loyalty to Marlene, who she didn't even see as a friend. and yet she felt awful about it when she thought she had slept with Miles. whereas Carlotta *claimed* Shelley as her best friend but had absolutely no regard for her feelings whatsoever. And she was sober the entire time.

And tbh we've never actually seen anything from Carlotta other than her seeing other girls' boyfriends. But we've seen Donna a lot more. We've see that there's more to her than that; she's intelligent, hard-working, cares a lot for her family and she is so fierce and kick-ass--I mean her parents died and she's totally carried on, taking on all the load. Whereas with Carlotta, there's not much more to her than a boyfriend-stealing ho.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Luke HAS to appear - isn't he the one with his wand pointed at James from the prologue?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Girl, you dedicated the character of Luke to me way back in the beginning of the story. I'm not just the president of his fan club, I'm the VP, secretary, and treasurer.

  67. carlotta is vegetarian.
ie wouldnt eat a puppy, given the chance.

    eh, personal preference i guess.
    for me:
    lily > carlotta = marlene > mary = donna >> shelley

    ReplyDelete
  68. @Todd@109, I still haven't confirmed that, damn it! =P

@potato--so not so much of a Shelley fan ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  69. no wait.
    lily > carlotta = mary > marlene = donna >> shelley

    hahaha jules, not really.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ooo! I like the Donna vs Carlotta debate, because really, I don't like either of them too much. But yeah... Donna does slightly win.

Ok, the Donna/Plex incident is inexcusable by all counts. The girl straight up didn't care how her actions affected anyone else, which is pretty much the same MO as Carlotta. She's also not the ideal of a friend (see the great Lily/Donna feud ala chapter 19.)

I was also pretty pissed when Donna bailed at the ministry. Sure she ended up sending in the aurors, but I was not impressed with her at that moment. Where was her nerve then when her friends were participating in one of the most important and dangerous protests of the wizarding age?

And really, both Donna and Carlotta are so freaking into themselves it's kind of infuriating.

However, there is one factor that Donna has going for her that (to me) blows Carlotta out of the water, and that is her security in herself.

Carlotta seems to be nothing without the validation of a man. Chapter 30, when Lily asks her "why James," was any one else sick from her answer?

They are both great characters, and I equally hate what they do, but Carlotta offends my sensibilities as a female.

    ReplyDelete
  71. potato...are you serious? you have carlotta as better than all those people?

    ReplyDelete
  72. I actually prefer Carlotta so much more than Donna. I still haven't forgiven her for telling Lily that she wasn't upset by her parent's death. I mean, sure it's mean to start dating a guy that your best friend likes, however it's not like Carlotta stole James away from Shelly, nor did Shelly ever do anything about her feelings. I do think Carlotta should should have talked to Shelly about dating James, however some things are worse... LIKE BELITTLING THE DEATH OF YOUR BEST FRIEND'S PARENTS!

    UGH!

What gets me the most about it is that Donna lost her parents too. So she should know what it is like, and yet she still said what she did to Lily, KNOWING it would hurt her.

And the other thing I don't like about Donna is that, to quote Jules: "Donna's more upfront about being an unfeeling bitch..." I don't like that because she believes that's it's okay to belittle others and be mean and say hurtful things. It's like she uses "I'm a bitch, deal with it" as an excuse to be unkind to others, because she's too lazy to keep her mouth shut if she doesn't have anything nice to say.

That's not to say she isn't written wonderfully, Jules. Because she is. She just reminds me of a friend I used to have and our friendship was toxic. No one should ever think it's okay to be a bitch. People should always try be kind.

    Copying Chubby:
    Lily > Marlene > Mary > Carlotta > Shelly > Donna

    MOVING ON!

Someone way up said, "I kind of feel that Jules is our own Dumbledore." KAYLA! Your drawing skills are needed once more! Chop chop!

    ReplyDelete
  73. lily > carlotta = marlene > mary = donna >> shelley --Potatoes first list.

I agree with you on everything. Like, seriously, everything that you've said. Haha.

And for me, I would definitely side with Carlotta in Carlotta vs. Shelley. (I'm sorry puppies!!) And I like Carlotta more than Donna. I think my reasoning for that is because Shelley and Donna both realize that what they do (boyfriend stealing, etc) is morally wrong. Carlotta's morals are completely different, and while they aren't what we would consider right, at least she wasn't going against anything that she believes in.

Donna is a bitch (and I don't like her as a person, but she makes a brilliant character). She intentionally hurts other people, regardless of who they are (save for Lily), and that did already come back to bite her a few times. She's grown up a bit, yes, but I don't think she's really had that moment yet in which she realizes that you don't hurt the people that love you.

Shelley I LOATHE. (Again, praise be to Jules for being able to make me feel so strongly about a charater). I just feel like she has little to no right to be angry with Carlotta because as Todd(?) said, she's passive about everything. She never had the guts to make a move with James, but Carlotta did. And I think that James deserves someone that is willing to risk something for him. That's why so many LJ stories aren't any good: James is head over heals and then Lily just goes along for the ride. I think that the girl that James is with has to be willing to meet him halfway, you know? And Lily wasn't ready for that yet, but Shelley was never ready to do that either. So I obviously prefer Lily to Carlotta, but Carlotta is absolutely better for him than Shelley.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree but she's just how I imagine Lily; very vulnerable and sweet but also strong.

    ReplyDelete
  76. @Jules@Todd, LOL! Ever since I read in chapter 2 that Luke has brown eyes I though he was the one from the prologue. Plus, in the prologue the one "attacking" James says to him that she doesn't love him in a desperate way, as if he wants to believe that Lily hasn't got any feelings for James...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Todd, I think she's gorgeous and it's always cool to see how people picture Lily and James.

For example, it seems like a lot of people on here picture Lily with actual deepish red hair, like the one in your pictures. Yet, I always picture her as a natural ginger. So much orange lol.

  84. OH! I just had a thought. If Sirius is kicked off the team now, who will take his place? James won't keep the crappy replacement chaser will he? Maybe Marlene could finally start playing Quidditch?

  85. OMFG kayla. jumbledore..amazing.

  86. I agree that Carlotta is in many ways more sympathetic than Donna as far as each one's cheating scandal is concerned. At least Carlotta felt real feelings for Frank- she may have known that Alice would be hurt by her decision but she really thought that she might be in love with him and that a relationship could follow from her actions. Donna however, felt nothing for Charlie. She knew that there was no future there AND that he had a girlfriend yet she still chose to sleep with him. In this way, Carlotta's actions, to me, are far more understandable and Donna is just kind of a bitch.

  88. @Jenn oh, she's lovely. She's almost exactly how I pictured Lily when I first read Philosopher's Stone.

  89. Slightly off topic, but does anyone else sometimes picture Lathe as a slightly less attractive version of Garret Hedlund?

Actually, in this pic, I can almost see him as Remus...kind of werewolfish

  90. @Todd, thanks. I just love the shade of her hair. I randomly found her while looking at prom dresses for my sister on the Le Chateau website :)

  91. Okay so I'm going to break it down by female characters:
    Lily...is Lily, end of story.
Marlene...I actually LOVE Marlene, especially the new and improved version...can't wait for her and Adam to work it out and I want to see what she does this year cause I have a feeling it's going to be a new her.
Mary...don't particularly care. Every once and a while I see a burst of her, but at this point we don't really know that much about her. Maybe we'll learn more this year.
Donna...ahh Donna. Straight up I love Donna. I know there's been a lot of hate going around about her and I know she did some shitty things, but I honestly forgive her for everything. Sorry, I don't care that she's a bitch, I still love her and I honestly never really hated her. Go figure!
Carlotta and Shelly...I'm putting these two together because I've decided that I dislike them equally. Carlotta shouldn't screw people over like she does (especially her best friend because even if your morals are different I can't really count something as a "moral" if it inherently hurts your best friend. To me that's just bullshit that covers up the fact that you just want to do what you want). However Shelley has stooped to her level which sucks just as much. She's being vindictive and nasty and stepping over other people (just like Carlotta did) to get what she wants. If she was really a good person than she'd be taking the high road. So they are both now on the same level. I feel like I might be having some sympathy for Carlotta coming up because no one likes to be "that girl" (you know the one who has no friends because literally every girl has turned against you), but at this point they are still on equally low ground for me.

  92. @251, he' not bad for Lathe at all. However, I love Andrew Garfield as Remus so I'm biased when it comes to that, haha.

  95. K, have to keep this brief because I'm going to see Jane Eyre in a minute but I'm team Donna on this one.
    Pre chap.30 it was
    Lily > Marlene > Mary > Shelley > Donna > Carlotta.
    now it's
    Lily > Marlene > Donna > Mary > Shelley = Carlotta.

Donna is BAMF. End of Story.

Will be back to continue my Donna love when I return:)

  96. Completely agree with you Justine, on the second one.

  98. So much love for this debate! I personally think Donna is a bitch but she's kind at heart and loyal to those she loves unlike Donna who is the devil and will destroy anyone in her path. Or something.

Kayla that picture is AMAZING!! I nearly died. Jumbledore lololololool.

  99. Lily >> Mary=Donna >> Marlene > Shelley > Carlotta

For me: of the girls: Lily>Mary=Donna=Marlene>Shelley>Carlotta

guys: Sirius>James=Remus=Reg>Lathe=Adam>>Luke>>>Snape (it's not that I don't like Lathe, but I need to see more of him before he can compete with the others)

    ReplyDelete
  101. I LOVE Reg.

And Idk why but I don't like LaTJames that much. *shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  102. @334 I was just about to post a pic of Isla Fisher as my Lily.

    I think she's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  103. sirius = james >> adam = lathe > reg > remus >= snape = peter

ugh. remus and snape are my two least fav canon mwpp era male characters.

    ReplyDelete
  104. yeah isla fisher and amy adams make pretty good lilies.

    ReplyDelete
  105. sirius = james >>> remus (because of the angsting comment) > adam > lathe = reg > peter = snape

    ReplyDelete

    Lily>Marlene>>>Mary=Donna>>>>>Carlotta=Shelly

    Lily>>> Marlene>Carlotta>>>>Mary>Shelley

    James=Sirius>Remus>Lathe>peter>Reg>Adam>>Hagrid>Slughorn>Flitwick>>>>Snape

  108. James = Sirius >> Remus = Lathe >> Reg = Adam >> Peter = Charlie Plex >> Snape

    Lily >> Marlene >> Donna >> Mary = Carlotta >> Shelley

  109. Eh, I find LaT James annoying, have since the beginning really. He's far too angsty, it annoys me. And when he got with Carlotta, I decided once and for all that he really isn't good enough for LaT Lily.

This is weird, cos I usually don't like Lily in fanfiction (she's either too bitchy/shouty/uptight or too slutty or too much of a push-over; writers seem have a hard time finding a middle ground), but I love James, and I usually feel that Lily doesn't really deserve James. LaT Lily is quite possibly the best written Lily I've come across in a long long time. But I don't like James... so this time it's the other way around, with me genuinely thinking that Lily could do better.

Seriously, first time I've EVER thought that.

    (btw, I'm 4:27 and 4:48)
