Chapter 32 Post

So FINALLY I've updated!
Thank you guys so, so, so much for everything. You are all really exceptionally wonderful.

Oh, one thing I wanted to address was my using Operation Mancy instead of Operation Cloony. Operation Cloony is OBVIOUSLY the better name, no doubt about it. But I didn't want to steal anyone's idea, so I didn't use it. In my brain, the ship is Cloony, even if the Op isn't =P

So I'll chat a bit about Chapter 33 now.
It's called "Of Marlene."
It's a Marlene chapter (SHOOT WHO KNEW?!)
Expect:
    Quidditch
    Adam
    Prudence
    Operation Mancy
    The return of Miles Stimpson

  2. Amazing Chapter!!!!!! I died when James said: "So as someone who probably had similar feelings about the name 'Luke' not too long ago... I understand." Omg! I'm in hardcore shipper-mode right now!

  3. Thank you Jules, you brilliant, wonderful person! Fantastic chapter as usual. Have a good weekend! ^.^

Favorite bits (eh, I'm not great at constructive criticism :P)
    - the J/L banter; Lily kicking James's ass at Nerts; all the Team Puppy shipper-ness
    - Sam and his letters
    - how Lily finds fancying James "annoying" and how James finds Lily's voice making his ears ring "annoying"
    - flustered Clancy and Remus: Clancy rambling to Sirius; Remus being clumsy because Clancy visits
    - Sirius naming Operation Mancy (hehe I was hoping for Cloony)
    - all of the Remus and Lily interactions
    - flustered Donna because of Marlene's hint about Lathe (please bring Lathe back ASAP for some Shacklebojack interaction, kthanks)
    - Donna and Marlene's kind-of-friendship
    - James/Sirius bromance in the Quidditch pitch
    - fancy Clancy
    - the ever-so-intriguing Valentina
    - Remus's rant while he and James are patrolling; all of the Remus and James interactions
    - the sweet sisterly moment between Donna and Bridget
    - Donna's evolution (lol why did evolution/evolving brought to mind Pokemon? sorry Darwin)
    - flustered James and how he notices Lily's scent of green apple shampoo

Besides Team Puppy shirts, we should all make MFP shirts. ;)

  4. Love the new background. It's absolutely gorgeous. <3
The new chapter was wonderful as well. Totally worth the waiting. (:

  5. Finished! This story is like a theme park queue - you wait for ages and then the ride is over in two minutes! But well worth it, I literally devoured this chapter, it was great!

I love Marlene and Donna hanging out!
    I love Mancy!
    I LOVE APPLE SHAMPOO!

And I'm going to go and re-read now.
    THANK YOU X X X

  6. Favourite part of the chapter: "Fancy Clancy" and Remus saying how similar Lily was sometimes to James and Sirius <3
I love Lily's friendship with Remus, they have really funny conversations!
And the last part with Lily talking to James about being Head Boy was excellent. I knew she was going to be the one to calm him down a bit. Honestly, she's the only one who can call him self centered and still make him want to keep on listening her. Anyone got the feeling (again) that Lily would have been an awesome mother?
And when James got all flustered at the end... I swear, I had the biggest smile on earth. Puppies were being born again, the sun was shining (well, on the other side of earth, since it was well into the night here), everything was great.
I dont't care how much we wait for the chapter, as long as it is as good as yours always are Jules. Really. The chapters are definetely worth the wait.

  7. @Marie-We totally should make M.F.P. shirts! I thought of that when I first read the chappie, and I immediately wanted one. They are red right?

  8. I have a question***raises hand****

Who do you think could portray Sam Dearborn? I have almost everyone in TLAT, but not Sam...

  9. I don't mean to come across as rude, but was there a particular reason why this chapter took so long to finish? Or a multitude of reasons? I'm sure you've mentioned it before in a different post. I was just curious, because it's not as long as Chapter 31 nor as complicated of a timeline.

Good luck with Chapter 33. For purely selfish reasons I hope you finish it very, very soon!

    ReplyDelete
  10. ^Darling, it's called life. :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. What do you think is an early update? A usual one-month update or shorter? (I hope it's shorter :D)

    ReplyDelete
  12. The chapter was absolutely amazing! I love Sam for being a James/Lily-shipper (like us) and I just loved all the James/Lily-interaction. Especially, the last scene... how James notices every tiny detail about her (really, James, just break up with Carlotta) and it was just adorable! Okay, I really, really can't wait for the next chapter! Hopefully, more puppies will be saved! Lol!
Thank you for being such an awesome person and author, Jules!

  13. Ok, was Valentina's question about James being the tallest supposed to be an Invader Zim reference? Because I totally almost lost my shit at work with that!

I loved it. Loved everything about it. It may have been wishful thinking, but I thought I saw a little distancing with James and Carlotta. With the bag positioned in between them and James going to patrol early while she was doing homework, it seemed like a bit of foreshadow. ^_^

  14. Jules, chapter 32 was totally awesome,
I'm not so good at constructive criticism either so here goes the favourite parts.

    "Er... Remus Lupin?"
Sirius stared. "You're looking for Remus Lupin?" he asked skeptically.
    "Yes."
    "Remus John Lupin?"
    "Er... yes..."
"Is he... tutoring you or something?"
^that made me laugh uncontrollably for some reason.

    - Fancy Clancy. hehehe

    - James and Valentina. Is there going to be anymore of that?

    - Donna and Bridget. Sweet moment.

    - So buck up and get yourself a lay.

    - And it’s different with Remus, that’s all. He never fancies girls! Or boys, that I can tell. I thought he was asexual, to be honest.

    - Remus in general.

    - James/Sirius bromancing

“You all right, Prongs?” asked Remus on his way out.
“Fantastic,” said James. “And… er… good work today.”
    Remus raised both eyebrows. “What?”
    “Good work,” James repeated.
    “Good work on what?”
James ran one hand through his hair. “Just… just good work.”
Remus continued to look at his friend with an expression one might use in staring at a friend he suspects to be replaced by a Polyjuice Potion equipped imposter. “Prongs, are you stoned?”
“No, I’m not fucking stoned. Can’t a bloke tell his mate ‘good work’ every now and again without starting a goddamn revolution?”
    “Er… I suppose so…”
“Well then good fucking work!” said James impatiently.
    “Thank… you?”
    “You’re welcome.”

    ^lmfao,

“If it’s revenge you’re after, you could get the master himself.”
    “The master?” echoed Donna. “Who?”
“Who else?” Marlene shrugged. “Sirius Black.”
Donna looked confused. “Black? Why would Black help?”
And then Marlene began to grin. “Operation Mancy.”
Donna only stared. “What the fuck is that?”

I loved the whole chapter, and now I'm off to reread the whole thing.

btw, did I miss something with the green apple shampoo, where did it first come from? I don't reall remember that. :/

    ReplyDelete
  15. oh I almost forgot.

“Moony, listen to me…” They started down the staircase, “You’re not the Shelley.”

    “I am the Shelley.”

    “You’re not the Shelley.”

    “I’m the Shelley.”

    “You don’t even wear perfume.”

    “I’m the Shelley.”

“You didn’t start a huge fight in Counseling.”

    “I’m the Shelley.”

“If you were trying to date me, I would absolutely dump Carlotta for you.”

“I’m the… oh shut up, Prongs.”

  16. This has nothing to do about the chapter, but I read a post of yours in Tumblr, Jules, where you said you couldn't write smut to save your life and that it would end up like My Immortal-y. I hadn't read My Immortal until five minutes ago, and I just got to that part. ("Then he put his thingie into my you-know-what and we did it for the first time.")
Jules, you are an amazing writer. There's no way in hell you'd ever write anything as bad as that. Seriously. <3
So don't worry. If you ever decide to write a sex scene, as long as it isn't between Carlotta and James, it will come out wonderfully. (I can't put this in a way that doesn't make me sound completely perverted. xD)

    ;*

    ReplyDelete
  17. This chapter was absolutely brilliant, as always!
Loved the last two sections (James & Lily convo (and thanking Remus) and Donna & Marlene). I think they were my favourite sections, along with Sam's letters, James's doubt, Donna's evolution, the evolution of Operation Mancy ("What the fuck is that?" haha) and the Donna/Bridget sister scene (aww!). And Valentina.

Oh who am I bloody kidding. I loved the whole thing. Every letter of it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jules, I loved the James/Sirius conversation after tryouts. Almost made me cry.

    ReplyDelete
  19. jules, you don't need to write smut. lily and james banter makes me feel much more emotion than any sex scene ever could.

in other news, chapter 32 was fantastic. i am definitely a passenger on the shelley boat. actually, no, i'm captain at this point. all aboard?

  20. YAYAYAYAY I love new chapter updates! I just got back home yesterday after finishing college and driving home for two days, and I was so happy to see a new chapter! Fabulous, as always. Can't wait for the Plex revenge... have a feeling it will put tentacles to shame!

Hope the next update is quick - I know you have a life of your own, but updates make me smile a lot, and I like to smile! Plus we need to speed ahead to Team Puppy chapters!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Jules, you could obviously have used Cloony!

You may also use my idea of Lily writing to Lathe and explaining to him it would TOTALLY be appropriate for him to make his moves on Donna since she is an adult in the wizarding world, if not in the muggle world yet... somehow I doubt I'll end up reading that story line in LAT though... :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love love love love love it. I am in love with you and your mad writing skills. I am so excited for Mancy and what happens with Charlie Plex. And for eventual James/Lily goodness. Good job once again Jules. You outdo yourself every time. :)

  24. So I'm envisioning a scene (in the not to distant future I hope) in which they make amortentia... and James' smells suspiciously like GREEN APPLES.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just read the review with Sam being Umbridge too, and I don't think I have ever been so confused...

    How is he James' rival??

    ReplyDelete
  26. I loved it ! Your writing is so fun and subtle at the same time. Sirius was of course brilliant and the shampoo bit too.

But I really enjoyed Carlotta and Lily answers to why James is Headboy. Lily's is more intelligent and accurate, and it really shows, in a more profound way that "i looove green eyes and red hair" that Lily is far better for James. She understands him, she knows he really is a good persone once you get to know it.

Anyway, looking forward to THE revenge :D

  27. YAYAYAYAY Operation Mancy! Jules, is Clancy related to the person who wrote Standard Book of Spells?

  28. Message from Todd (aka kneelb4todd):
I'll stop by the blog once I've read the new chapter of LAT, but that might not be for a few days...

She's just house sitting but she'll be back soon. And I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with a nice long review.

    Fear not kittens! :)

  29. That Lathe reference...

"I have been feeling a little off lately. I'm sort of... I have a—a—a kind of moral dilemma."

Marlene smirked. "Whether you prefer Ancient Runes or Arithmancy isn't a moral dilemma, Donna. They're just classes; they don't get jealous..."

"Fuck off, Price, this is an actual dilemma."

"What is it?" asked Marlene, half amused. "Oi! Questioning whether it's moral to sleep with an older man, are you?"

Donna looked at her sharply. "What?"

    "What-what?" asked Marlene innocently.

Donna's eyes narrowed, and then she folded her arms and looked away again. "No. It has nothing—I mean... no."

asdfghfdsfghjk was I the only one who noticed this and squealed?

    :D

    (amazing chapter, as usual, Jules)

  30. Absolutely fantastic chapter and well worth the wait! It was so great. :)

I had an unpleasant interaction with some guests today that I think only you guys would understand. This was the conversation I listened to as a mom and her daughter were buying a Snape wand.

Daughter: Why are you buying Snape's wand? He was a bad guy.
Mom: No, hunny. It turns out Snape was good all along.
Daughter: No he wasn't. He didn't like Harry Potter. He was always mean to him.
Mom: That's because Harry's dad was a bad person and he made fun of Snape all the time. Snape never deserved that.

....nobody understood why this upset me so much. -_-

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ugg, apparently when it comes to Snape, the good thing he did (protecting/risking his life for Harry) completely outweighs all the bad (being a Death Eater, calling Lily mudblood, bullying students), but for James, the good thing he did (protecting/risking his life for Harry and Lily) is barely worthy of mentioning at all, he was clearly a bad person (bullying his enemy who was in love with the girl he liked when he was FIFTEEN)

clearly people have their moral directives in line...

  32. I loved ch.31! And even though I know it is highly improbable that another update will come so soon after the last one , I find myself checking daily. Needless to say, I can't wait for the next chapter!

    ReplyDelete
  33. "Who do you think could portray Sam Dearborn?"

I don't know... hmmmm... that's something to think about, I'm not sure.

@Megan, did ya slap a bitch??

Is Clancy related to the author of Standard Book of Spells?
    yep.

How long before update? Usual one month or shorter?
    Hopefully shorter!

And MFP shirts are white with green lettering. =P

  34. Can I submit Joe Anderson as a potential Sam? going on the long, freckled face with fair hair description

    ReplyDelete
  35. MAX! OMG!
    No, that is perfect, Sarah!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow Joe Anderson is just exactly how I pictured Sam and I didn't even realize it until I clicked on the link. Beyond perfect

  37. Does anybody have a recommendation for a well-written Lily/James fic? Besides this one of course, which is my favorite of all!! I just want something to entertain me in between chapters :) I've looked through people's favorites and such but rarely can I find a solid one...sometimes I feel like I just waste time trying to find a decent story instead of actually reading. I figured you all might have some good suggestions because we seem to have similar tastes. :) Great chapter as usual, thank you for sharing your talent!

  40. hello, worth the wait!
but i did understand the nerts game, and the jack of diamond in lily`s pocket

    ReplyDelete
  41. wait, i don't get it. can someone explain the jack of diamond in lily's pocket to me?

    ReplyDelete
  42. If you go back and read the earlier chapter where James and Lily have lunch in Camden Street, James takes a pack of playing cards and does a trick with that card and Lily ends up with it in her pocket at the end of the day.

    :D

Just commenting once again to express my worship to you Jules.

    ReplyDelete
  43. number of the chapter?
    thank you

    ReplyDelete
  44. So will James break up with Carlotta or vice versa? Personally I'd prefer the former with the conversation being along the lines of "I've seen the Snitch, so sorry Quaffle."

    ReplyDelete
  45. I really want to get these My Immortal references. does anyone have the link, or the authors name? Or should I just stay away? lol

    ReplyDelete
  46. Finally getting around to reviewing. But I, like everyone else, loved the chappie.

Personally, James should totally leave Carlotta for Remus. I'm now going to start shipping for Team Jamus.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @anon 9:45 --> My Immortal is the WORST fanfic ever written. It was so bad, that it was actually pulled from ff.net. However, it has been re-posted by various people since then. Here is one such link. FYI, after reading this, you may feel as if you have just spent some time in the Pit of Despair, because your intelligence will have dropped so low that it will be off the charts.

  48. Oops, and here's the site. http://myimmortalrehost.webs.com/
